Grassroots music in North Wales
On 8th and 9th July, Buckley’s Tivoli Venue hosts 2023’s Folky Dokey Grassroots Music Fest. Folky Dokey is set to be a festival packed full of live folk, folk-rock and roots music. The line up includes stalwarts of the UK’s folk scene and newbies, electric and acoustic, raucous and refined.
Leatherat rounds off the first day. Others appearing include Mad Dog Mcrea, Gaz Brookfield, Warren Ireland, Man The Lifeboats, RootSix, and many, many more, with some yet to be announced. Stuart Blakeledge of the Sweetchunks Band will be in control as the weekend’s compere.
You can get day and weekend tickets and of course there’s camping too.
So Banbury’s rowdy folk-rock outfit that split up just a few years ago continues to go forth with their new lineup for this – and more – gigs in 2023. Earlier in the year, there’s the regular outing in Guildford with True Deceivers (sold out). Then April sees a canal-side blast at The Pig Place at Adderbury near Banbury (with 3 Daft Monkeys). After regular appearances at Nuneaton’s Ragged Bear Festival, Leatherat is back at the Queen’s Hall in May (with Ferocious Dog).
Plenty of new dates are in Leatherat’s diary for the rest of 2023, but we can’t tell you about them just yet. Keep an eye on our website’s live page, our Facebook and Instagram pages. We will announce more shows soon. Suffice to say we will there will be plenty more hi-octane folk-rock, unapologetically delivered with fiery passion this year!
At which venues and festivals would you like to see Leatherat? Let us know in the comments, and let’s see what we can do to make it happen!
